  • Healthcare M&A activity was relatively active in the 4th quarter of 2011, with several notable middle market transactions announced by large private equity groups such as Bain Capital, Hellman & Friedman, JLL Partners and Kohlberg & Co.
  • In terms of total transaction value, 2011 ranks as the top performing year over the past decade.
  • Transactions valued at less than $500 million represented slightly more than 95% of the total number of closed healthcare deals in Q4.
  • Financial sponsors were responsible for 1 in 7 completed deals.
