Venture Capital Dispatch’s new interactive map of U.S. based venture capital provides a creative way to examine the nation’s venture capital activity, allowing viewers to examine data by industry, funding round class, and region.

The map, which uses data from Dow Jones VentureSource, lists Georgia among the top 10 venture capital recipients. The list is as follows:

1. California (~$7 billion)
2. Massachusetts (~$2 billion)
3. New York (~$1.1 billion)
4. Virginia (~$500 million)
5. Texas (~$400 million)
6. Illinois (~$300 million)
7. Colorado (~$290 million)
8. Pennsylvania (~$275 million)
9. Georgia (~$250 million)
10. Washington (~$230 million)
