Prominent Global Sourcing Attorney Joins MMM

Alexander P. Woollcott Attracted by Firm’s Technology Strength

Atlanta, GA (March 22, 2011)Alexander P. Woollcott has joined Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP, one of Atlanta’s leading law firms and an AmLaw 200 firm, as a partner in its Global Sourcing and Technology Transactions practices. He is based in the firm’s Atlanta office.

Woollcott formerly chaired the Global Sourcing & Procurement Practice at Thompson Hine, where he was a partner. He says MMM’s strong technology practice was among the reasons he decided to join the firm.

“MMM already has a substantial sourcing and cross-border transactions practice,” said Woollcott. “In addition, the firm has been a long-standing leader in the field of technology law. Since global sourcing transactions are often heavily influenced by technology, joining MMM gives my clients access to an outstanding array of legal services under one roof,” he added. “I’m excited about joining such a talented group of lawyers who consistently lead the way in innovative high-growth areas.”

Woollcott represents businesses involved in outsourcing, procurement, licensing, strategic alliances, supply chain, and distribution channel transactions and relationships, as well as mergers and acquisitions and cross-border transactions. He has experience in industries including banking and financial services, healthcare, life sciences, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCGs), chemicals, heavy manufacturing, energy, and telecommunications and wireless. He assists clients with transactions involving the sourcing of IT, business processes, strategic transformation, application development and maintenance, facilities management, research and development and other business functions. Woollcott also represents on-shore and off-shore service providers and vendors.

“Having an attorney with Alex’s skills join our Global Sourcing and Technology Transactions teams is a strategic win for us,” offered MMM’s Managing Partner Louise M. Wells. “Global sourcing is extremely important to our clients, both technology-focused and otherwise. We believe in leading with our strengths, so Alex is a great addition to our skill base, which is already substantial.”

Woollcott also represents corporate clients and senior executive officers in employment and severance agreement matters, restrictive covenant and trade secret matters, and litigation.

He received his J.D. from Cornell Law School and his B.S. degree from Yale University.
